Elderly couple assaulted in Thorncliffe home invasion

CALGARY – Police are searching for suspects following a home invasion in the community of Thorncliffe on Friday.

Officers were called to the 6000 block of Buckthorn Road N.W. at around 5 a.m. after two men forced their way into a house, assaulting the elderly couple inside and demanding money and jewelry from them.

Both occupants, a man and woman in their 70s, were transported to hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police do not believe it was a random attack.

The first suspect is described as being in his late 20s, 6’2” in height with a slim build. He was wearing a blue and white bandana across his face.

The second man is described as being in his early 20s, 5’10” in height with a medium build. He was also wearing a bandana over his face.
