A winter storm is causing problems in western Manitoba.
Manitoba Hydro said ice and frost are collecting on the power lines and is warning people about the power possibly going out.
“Customers in some areas may experience power outages of varying durations over the next several hours,” said a release from the utility.

Crews are working to remove all the build up on the lines throughout the Parkland and Westman areas including Oakburn, Strathclair, Gilbert Plains, Grandview, Minnedosa, Pilot Mound, Hamiota, Dauphin, Strathclair and Killarney.
If the ice and frost aren’t removed, Manitoba Hydro said the additional weight can cause the lines, insulators and poles to break. If people come across a downed line they should stay away from it and call Manitoba Hydro’s 24-hour emergency line at 1-888-624-9376.
