Subway service resumes from Spadina to Union stations

TORONTO – Subway service has resumed from Spadina to Union stations following a workcar derailment early Tuesday morning.

TTC spokesperson Brad Ross said the derailment occurred around 2:30 a.m. at St. George Station and no workers were injured as a result of the incident.

“We have been able to re-rail that car so we can get it out of the way,” said Ross.

The TTC advised commuters heading downtown to take Line 2 from Spadina to Yonge.

“We certainly will have shuttle buses but we can’t carry the capacity that the subway train can,” said Ross. “If you can, to travel east on Line 2 and head south that way.”
