Manitobans mark the 23rd annual International Day of Persons with Disabilities

WINNIPEG — Manitobans mark the 23rd annual International day of persons with disabilities Thursday, December 3rd.

To mark the day, Global’s Morning News spoke to two winners of the “Just Watch Me” program, a campaign celebrating people with disabilities who create products or run a business.

Sydney Deneka is the owner/operator of Kozy Kritters by Sydney in Beausejour, Manitoba.  Sydney was last year’s contest winner and is a contest judge this year.

Chris Gaulin was the first ever winner of the “Just Watch Me” contest.  The two spoke about how the contest works, and what it’s done for their careers and lifestyle.

The day also launches Disability Matters: Vote 2016, a non-partisan campaign to highlight the importance of cross-disability issues during the upcoming general provincial election.
