3 arrested after stolen transport truck carrying cheese flips over in Vaughan

TORONTO – Police have arrested and charged three people after a stolen transport truck carrying a load of cheese flipped over in Vaughan, Ont. early Wednesday morning.

Police got word of the stolen vehicle around 1 a.m. ET. and began tracking it with GPS technology.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but decided otherwise due to public safety concerns.

Police said the transport truck was later found flipped on its side on Highway 27 near Highway 427.

Officers managed to capture two suspects as they tried to get into a taxi nearby and a third suspect was arrested driving in a car in the area of Royal Crest Drive.

Police said a transport truck was reported stolen from the Brampton area on Tuesday.

The suspects have been identified as Harpreet Singh, 36, Saurav Kumar, 19 and Kulvir Bains, 31.

Al three face charges of theft over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
