Police responded to a 9-1-1 call around 10:30 p.m. at a residence on Rykert Crescent in the area of Brentcliffe Road and Eglinton Avenue East to find the male victim with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to hospital without vital signs and later succumbed to his injuries.

Police said a long gun was used in the incident and it was legally owned. Authorities also believe the weapon was fired accidentally.

“Conor lives at the home with his parents and sibling. Campbell was his best friend who had come over, as usual to hang out,” he said in an email.

Temple said he found out about the shooting Thursday morning after being notified by a friend.

“I didn’t know Conor or Campbell too well, as Conor is my friend’s older brother,” he said. “He would always be very nice to me and my friends whenever we would come over.”

Colangelo is scheduled to appear in court today.
