What could have been a fatal car crash has turned into an early Christmas present for one New Hampshire couple.
WBZ reports that Dennis Beaudoin, 28, was driving his Saab home from a doctor’s appointment with his pregnant wife Brittany, 23, sitting in the passenger seat. It seemed like a typical Tuesday morning until a Mazda, driven by 24-year-old Greg Beaulieu crossed their path.
“The Mazda came up and went around them. The Mazda was trying to squeeze in between the two,” witness Joshua Fishwick told ABC. “The Saab sped up. They were going like 50, 60 mph.”
“The Mazda kept swerving like he was trying to sneak through. Then he just went over and hit the Saab.”
Surveillance footage shows the Saab flip over while Beaudoin and Beaulieu are ejected in the process.
First responders were called to the scene where the focus soon turned to Beaudoin, who was eight months pregnant. The baby’s due date had been circled as December 25 — Christmas Day. But she was taken to hospital where she delivered a premature baby boy, Aiden, via caesarean section.
“The baby is now doing well. A little help breathing, but other than that, he’s doing real well,” Turner said.
No charges have been laid in the crash, but an investigation is ongoing.
