Saskatoon firefighters battle blaze at flooring company

SASKATOON – No one was injured after a fire Tuesday morning at a Saskatoon floor covering company. Crews from four Saskatoon fire halls were called to Buckwold Western at 3239 Faithful Ave. at 11:05 a.m. CT for a report of a fire in the building.

Firefighters arrived to find the building had been evacuated and the sprinkler system activated in the warehouse.

The fire, consisting of rolls of underlay, was located approximately 20 feet off the ground in a shelving unit.

It took crews just over a half-hour put out the fire. Firefighter spent another 45 minutes clearing smoke and water from the warehouse and office area.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
