Winnipeg police working with FBI on human trafficking investigation

WINNIPEG – Canadian and American officers are working on a massive  investigation targeting human trafficking.

Winnipeg police are joining Operation Northern Spotlight along with more than 30 other police services and the FBI.

They are currently interviewing numerous women working at hotels and massage parlours in the city.

Officers say some victims forced into the sex trade are just 14 years old.

This investigation is also a way to inform the women of help available for them to get out of industry.

So far about 50 people have been arrested.
