Lethbridge College celebrates $100K gift from Viterra

LETHBRIDGE – Students at Lethbridge College will benefit from a $100,000 gift from Viterra announced Wednesday.

The grain company’s gift will support student awards, making education more accessible to all of those with the desire to achieve.

Viterra President and CEO for North America, Kyle Jeworski, said the gift is part of a nation-wide initiative to support post-secondary education.

“We’re proud to be investing in the skills training of students through our contribution to Lethbridge College as a part of our overall commitment to education,” said Jeworski.

The $100,000 is part of the college’s “Possibilities are Endless” campaign, which aims to raise $103 million for key innovative and essential college initiatives.

“Student-focused gifts, like this one from Viterra, play a huge role in changing the lives of our students,” said Lethbridge College President and CEO Dr. Paula Burns.

“They provide the gift of time and opportunity, allowing students to focus on their studies and get the hands-on training they need to become valued employees and leaders.”

Viterra’s gift will be used to create scholarships and awards for students in a variety of programs.

Twenty-five-thousand dollars of it is specifically directed to awards for First Nations, Metis and Inuit (FNMI) students.
