A Michigan road rage incident involving a Slurpee and gunfire ended with a charge of assault with intent to commit murder.
India Marchea McDougal, 36, was arraigned on Oct. 14 after opening fire at a pickup truck on Tuesday. According to McDougal’s 911 call, the driver of the truck had thrown a beverage at her so she shot at his car out of fear.
“He got out of his car and he came up to my car with something – I don’t know what it was – and then he threw something in my eyes,” said McDougal in the phone call. “…I shot at him because I didn’t know what the hell he was doing.”
But according to the 40-year-old pickup driver – who also called 911 about the event – he threw the “something,” which was a Slurpee, out the window. Even though he was initially thinking about hitting McDougal with the drink.
“To be completely honest with you, I went to throw my Slurpee at her,” the unidentified driver said in the 911 call.
Traffic cameras at the intersection where the incident took place captured everything and was able to show the sheriff of Macomb County who was telling the truth.
“The fact that she says he came up to her window, threw it in her eyes, blinded her and feared for her life – that’s not on the video,” told the sheriff to WDIV News.
The 40-year-old driver of the truck faces misdemeanor charges.
