REGINA – If you don’t agree with how council handles the budget, the City of Regina is now giving residents a crack at balancing their books.

The city has launched a new online interactive citizen budget tool ahead of its 2016 budget slated for November 13.

The tool gives residents control in determining how city spending should be allocated, all while trying to stay in the black.

Financial news and insights delivered to your email every Saturday.

The city says the information could affect future budgets.

“So, what we’ll be doing is we will be looking at the results of this and seeing how they align with what administrations is currently looking at with our budget. And from there we’ll look to see what happens next,” said June Schultz, the City of Regina’s Director of Finance.
