Major party leaders head to Battleground Ontario Tuesday

OTTAWA – The major party leaders are all in southern Ontario today, and all three will spend some time in Toronto.

Stephen Harper heads to the highly symbolic riding of Etobicoke-Lakeshore, where former Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff infamously lost his seat in the 2011 campaign to Conservative Bernard Trottier.

Harper will visit London, Ontario later in the day.

NDP Leader Tom Mulcair starts off in Oshawa before holding a town hall in Toronto and moving on to Brampton in the evening.

The Oshawa riding was the longtime seat of former N-D-P leader Ed Broadbent but has been represented by Conservative Colin Carrie since 2004.

Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau has three stops in Toronto before heading to Kitchener to meet with the mayors of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge.

He will then attend an evening Oktoberfest event in Mannheim.

Green party Leader Elizabeth May will discuss eliminating poverty in Victoria and hold an event in Nanaimo, B-C, via Skype with James Shaw, the co-leader of Green party of New Zealand.

Bloc Quebecois Leader Gilles Duceppe will make three stops in Granby, Quebec.
