Ontario legislature sings ‘OK Blue Jays’, unanimously agree to don jerseys

TORONTO – Blue Jays playoff fever has gripped the Ontario legislature.

MPPs unanimously agreed on Thursday to allow its members to wear Jays paraphernalia ahead of Game 1 of the American League Division Series opener on Thursday afternoon.

The motion was brought forward by Progressive Conservative MPP Michael Harris prior to the start of question period.

“I believe we do have unanimous consent by all parties to allow members today to wear their Blue Jays jersey or hat in the house in recognition of the Blue Jays making the postseason for the first time in 22 years,” said Harris.

The announcement was followed by a few MPPs breaking out into song by singing “OK Blue Jays”, which is normally recited during the 7th inning stretch at home games.
