Canadiens claim forward Paul Byron off waivers from Calgary Flames

MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens have claimed forward Paul Byron off waivers from the Calgary Flames.

Byron played in 57 games with the Flames last season, scoring six goals and adding 13 assists.

The five-foot-seven, 153-pound Ottawa native was drafted in the sixth round, 179th overall, by Buffalo in the 2007 NHL draft.

He has 17 goals and 31 assists in 138 career games with Buffalo and Calgary.
