WINNIPEG — Construction is underway on Outlet Collection Winnipeg. The new outlet mall is being built just off of Kenaston and Sterling Lyon Parkway.
The $200 million dollar mall will be 400 thousand square feet and 30 per cent of the space has already been leased.
The builders haven’t released which retailers are coming to the city, but there will be over 100 stores to shop in.
Marty Morantz, city councillor for the area said he is looking forward to the employment opportunities it will bring– about 1300 jobs.
“It provides new retail opportunities and a large number of jobs,” said Morantz. “This is very important for the city and for the ward. We want people to want to stay in Winnipeg, and move to Winnipeg, and make their home here where they can work and raise a family.”
The outlet mall is expected to open in May of 2017.
