LETHBRIDGE – Twenty-nine-year-old Randall William Enright was charged Monday morning with second-degree murder in relation to a weekend homicide.
On Saturday afternoon, Lethbridge police were called to a north side home, where 29-year-old Matthew James Flitton was found dead.
“These two are known to each other,” said Inspector Scott Woods with the Lethbridge Regional Police. “In fact, they were staying together on the northside where this occurred.”
According to friends and police, Flitton was letting Enright live in his house at the time of his death.
News of Flitton’s death has shocked a network of family and friends who knew the man since his earliest days in the city.
“You just loved the guy. You had no choice.”
Flitton was married and had no biological children, though friends said he loved his dog, Jax, like his own child.
Many of the friends who knew Flitton also knew Enright.
A candlelight vigil has been planned for Thursday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. at Jock Palmer Park.
