GEARY, NB – West District RCMP believe people doing target practice near the Geary Speedway in July may be responsible for the shooting of a 39-year-old man, but they are still looking for more information.

Shortly after 5:15 on July 25, police received a call that a 39-year-old man from Moncton had been shot near the Geary Speedway. The man was in a portable camper trailer when he was shot and badly injured.

Police believe a small group of people were doing target practice near the campsite, and that a bullet went through the camper, striking the victim. Police believe there are people out there that know what happened, and who might be responsible for this shooting.

Police ask anyone with information on this, no matter how significant, to contact Oromocto RCMP at 506-357-4300, or contact Crime Stoppers.
