Police investigate after man shot in Dorchester Square

MONTREAL – Police are investigating after a wounded man was found near Peel and Sainte-Catherine streets.

The incident happened around 10:35 p.m. Thursday night when calls came in about shots fired near Dorchester Square.

“[The victim] had superficial injuries, possibly caused by a gunshot that was fired during a fight that was taking place between a few people in the park,” said Anie Lemieux with Montreal police.

He had also been hit with pepper spray.

The victim was transported to hospital, where he remains.

“The victim is not cooperating with investigators at this time,” said Lemieux.
