Charges laid following weapons complaint

Halifax — Police have laid charges following a weapons complaint Saturday in Williamswood, N.S.

Officers responded to a 911 call shortly after 11 a.m. about a male standing in the driveway of a home on Moody Park Drive with a gun.

Members of the Emergency Response Team and the K-9 unit were called in to assist police.

Two men were taken into custody and officers secured the scene around the home.

Sunday morning, police charged a 31-year-old man with a number of offences, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a molotov cocktail and possession of an incendiary device.

The man, whose name has not yet been released, will appear in court Monday to face the charges.
