LETHBRIDGE – The Family Centre of Southern Alberta was the setting for a new funding announcement Thursday.

Alberta Human Services minister Irfan Sabir announced provincial Family and Community Safety Program grants will be funding 76 community-led initiatives to prevent family and sexual violence.  The total cost is expected to be nearly $10 million.  The projects are also aimed at providing support for early childhood developments and promoting healthy relationships.

“Our province is only as strong as our families and communities,” said Sabir. “The Alberta government is improving access to programs and services that help build resiliency and support the safety and well-being of all Albertans.”
