Smoked Meat Pete fuming over parking problems

WATCH ABOVE: Smoked Meat Pete has a bone to pick with the town of Île-Perrot after its customers started receiving parking tickets. Global’s Billy Shields reports.

ÎLE-PERROT – The owner of Smoked Meat Pete claims he’s being unfairly targeted because his customers have started receiving parking tickets.

Pete Varvaro said the town has added no parking signs along First Avenue and started ticketing his customers last Wednesday.

The restaurant has been a fixture in Île-Perrot for years; it underwent renovations almost two years ago.

According to Sebastien Carrière, of the town Île-Perrot, parking was always illegal on the streets around the restaurant – there were just no signs to let drivers or police know.

Carrière added the town created a legal parking zone on the far side of First Avenue back in April.
