Police seeking witnesses footage of Vancouver stabbing

Police investigators are appealing to witnesses following the early morning stabbing of a 21-year-old man in Vancouver on Aug. 26.

A fight involving a large group of people broke out at an Esso gas station at Davie and Burrard, according to police, in downtown Vancouver just after 3 a.m. When police arrived they found a 21-year-old man had been stabbed.

The victim suffered significant injuries and was taken to the hospital. He has since been released and is recovering at home.

Police detained a group of people but no arrests were made.

Based on surveillance video from the area, police said there were several witnesses to the incident who have not come forward. The footage also shows the witnesses taking photos or filming the incident.

Anyone with photos or cell phone video of the fight and stabbing is asked to contact VPD or Crime Stoppers.
