MONCTON – Volunteers at the Lutz Mountain Heritage Museum are hoping to raise museum funds during the upcoming AC/DC concert at Magnetic Hill.

Gerry Gillcash is the president of the Lutz Mountain Heritage Foundation and says the museum’s property has enough parking space for about 150 vehicles.

On top of that, he says it’s well-lit and cars won’t get stuck in any mud if it rains.

“It’s a nice, dry area,” he said. “We’re going to have a washroom on site here and probably sell a little bit of bottled water.”

The museum is located about a 15 minute walk from the concert site. Gillcash says staff will charge fans about $20 per vehicle to use their property.

Money raised through parking will help with the museum’s upkeep. It was originally built in 1883 and served as Moncton’s second Baptist Church.

It’s been a museum since 1975 and includes organs, antique furniture and clothing.

Betty Lutes is on the museum’s board of directors and says staff are committed to preserving the area’s local heritage.

“I think it’s important for future generations to see what happened in the past and connect with the past with their forefathers,” she said.
