WINNIPEG — A handful of people wearing green ribbons on their chest gathered in front of the Winnipeg courthouse supporting medical marijuana dealer Glenn Price.
Price owns Your Medical Cannabis Headquarters on Main Street but was arrested and charged with illegally selling drugs in early August.

In a courtroom that usually gets little attention, it was filled with supporters, journalist and sheriffs.
Price made his first court appearance Thursday but not all supporters were let into court.
Steven Stairs, a medical marijuana user says he was kicked out of the courthouse for bringing his bong and “medicine” in.
“I’m not going to go all the way here from home and not bring it, that’s absurd, you wouldn’t ask someone to not bring their insulane needles when their a diabetic,” said Stairs.
Stairs says he has the proper documentation and uses medical marijuana for his cataracts.
“I’d go blind, my doctors have already told me that and I’ve already proved it to myself,” Stairs said.
Before the dispensary opened, patients would have to get their medical marijuana online. Customers say it would take longer and cost more.
Health Canada regulates dispensaries but Price is not licensed to sell legally.
But Price says there are dispensaries in British Columbia that are not regulated and can operate without being harassed. Price says he’s fighting for medical marijuana users in Manitoba to have the same rights as those in other provinces.
There were supporters from Calgary and British Columbia at the courthouse.
Price’s next court appearance is September 3.
