WINNIPEG — New meaning is being brought to the term dog park.

For one game only, baseball fans will be allowed to bring their pooches to Shaw Park to enjoy a Goldeyes game.

Bark in the Park will take place on September 2 when the Fish take on the Sioux Falls Canaries.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes Baseball club is teaming up with the Winnipeg Pet Show for the event that will feature dog themed entertainment, prizes and pet-related vendors.

Tickets for the game are $12 each and include admission for one adult and a dog as well as a free doggie treat bag. Additional adult tickets can be bought for $9 through the Goldeyes’ website.

A portion of the proceeds from the ticket sale will go towards the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Pet owners will have to sign a waiver and provide proof of vaccinations.

Only certain areas of Shaw Park will be designated for dogs.
