Boil water advisory lifted in North Battleford, Sask.

NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. – A boil water advisory has ended in North Battleford, Sask. The precautionary drinking water advisory (PDWA) for the city was lifted Tuesday at 12:10 p.m.

City officials say water test completed by staff on the weekend came back negative for any contamination.

The boil water advisory was issued on Aug. 11 after an operations failure at the F.E. Holliday water treatment plant. Partially treated water bypassed one of the treatment processes and flowed into the treated water reservoir of the surface water plant.

Around 14,000 people were affected by the PDWA.

“The safety of our residents and guests is paramount and we thank them all for their co-operation and patience,” said city manager Jim Puffalt.
