History: This area has been strongly PC/Conservative since the late 60s. The only interruption was when Liberal Dianne Brushett won the seat for a single term in 1993. Liberal candidate Bill Casey could be the next to break the Conservative streak. He was a popular MP from 1997 to 2009 — even winning his seat as an independent in 2008 after he was kicked out of the Conservative caucus for voting against the budget. He left politics in 2009, but is returning this year under the Liberal banner.
