Man, 58, dies after being pulled from water at Rawdon campground

MONTREAL – The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating after a 58-year-old man was found unconscious in the water in Rawdon in the Lanaudière.

Police received an emergency call at around 12:30 p.m. about a man who had been pulled from the waters after he was found floating near a waterfall at the Ô Cascades campground.

He was transported to hospital in critical condition and later died. His name has not been released.

The circumstances leading to his death are unclear at this time.

Police confirm the man was not wearing a life-jacket.

This incident comes one week after two other men drowned in Rawdon while attempting to save a boy who had fallen in the water at Dorwin Falls.
