WINNIEPG – There will be no rest and relaxation for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers during their bye week. The team will spend its time off trying to figure out what went wrong during the first eight games of the season. The Bombers lost for the second time in a row Friday night as they fell 27-20 to the Toronto Argonauts.

“Just keep working on my game,” said quarterback Robert Marve. “Keep running and keep trying to get in shape. That’s my main focus. Keep watching film and keep getting better.”

Among the areas of concern is special teams. The Bombers allowed a punt to be returned 70 yards for a touchdown in their week eight loss against the Argonauts.

“There’s certainly some things we can clean up,” said head coach Mike O’Shea. “I’m sure we’re going to address all the areas. Every coach will think of things they can look at over the next week so we can better the next ten games.”

But despite having dropped four of their last five games, the Bombers believe they’re still in it.

“If you look at the west, we’re not in a horrible position by any means,” said Marve. “Football is a game of momentum. You start putting up three to four wins in a row and you start looking different and thinking different.”

The Bombers (3-5) play their next game August 29 at home against the Calgary Stampeders (4-2).
