REGINA – Regina aviation aficionados are in for a treat this weekend as a historic World War II-era bomber takes to the sky over the Queen City.
The local chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) along with a few other aviation enthusiasts have arranged a visit from a B-25 Mitchell Bomber from St. Paul Minnesota.
The B-25 will be in Regina on Friday to fly demonstration flights and provide rides on Saturday and Sunday.
“It has been many years since Reginans have had the opportunity to see an aircraft like this one,” said EAA event coordinator Malcolm McLeod. “The B-25 will provide a chance to see an impressive plane and share the experience of wartime air crews.”
The aircraft was flown by Canadians in wartime RAF squadrons and used extensively by the post-war RCAF at bases across the country.
