EMS said two men were taken to hospital in stable condition with facial injuries, but only one suffered a dog bite. Officials wouldn’t say how the other man was hurt.

Abdul Rafih, acting chief of animal and bylaw services, said the men sustained “serious facial injuries” and were still in hospital at around 4 p.m. Friday. He said the dog was put on a 10-day quarantine and would undergo a behavioural assessment in the coming days.

Rafih said charges for the dog’s owner are pending.
