Man in hospital after driving into guardrail in Valleyfield

MONTREAL – A man in his 40s is in hospital with serious injuries after hitting a guardrail and going off the road in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield Thursday afternoon.

The vehicle flipped over and the driver ended up on the roof.

He was alone in the car and was taken to hospital in critical condition.

According to Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, the man is now doing better.

Police have launched an investigation to determine what happened.

Officers aren’t ruling out inattention, fatigue or discomfort, but said drunk driving and excessive speed had already been dismissed.
