Firefighters respond to blaze in Pointe-Saint-Charles

MONTREAL – About 40 firefighters responded to a blaze in Pointe-Saint-Charles Thursday night.

The fire broke out at 11:10 p.m. on the roof of a three-storey building on Richardson Street, near Island Street.

The two people living on the building’s top floor were relocated; 12 residents were evacuated from the other four apartments.

Authorities believe the fire may have started after equipment was left behind by a roofing company earlier in the day.

There were no injuries and the investigation continues.
