UPDATED: One person dead following shooting in Enfield, N.S.

ENFIELD, N.S. – RCMP in Nova Scotia say foul play is suspected after one person died following a shooting in Enfield, about 40 kilometres north of Halifax.

Police say they were called to an address on Stage Road in Enfield at around 1:50 p.m. When they arrived, emergency responders and police found a person suffering from a gunshot wound.

“EHS personnel performed life-saving interventions but the person succumbed to the injury and passed away at the scene,” said Cpl. Greg Church of the Halifax RCMP.

Cpl. Church told media foul play is suspected and the investigation is still ongoing.

“The homicide unit at the serious incident section are leading the investigation and no further details are available at this time,” he said.
