Summary: This riding is home to one of just three sitting MPs running for Strength in Democracy (Forces et Démocratie) in this election. Manon Perreault was elected for the NDP in 2011, but was suspended from the party caucus after being charged with public mischief in June 2014. She was convicted, and sat as an independent until joining the Strength in Democracy team in August of this year. The NDP have a star candidate running against her, Radio-Canada hockey analyst Martin Leclerc.
Boundaries: This riding is north of Montreal. It has seen some small boundary changes for this election, adding L’Épiphanie, but losing Charlemagne and La Plaine to the riding of Terrebonne. This riding includes all of the RCM of Montcalm, and the city of Mascouche.

Last Election: Manon Perreault, running for the NDP, earned 53.0 per cent of the vote, defeating the Bloc Québécois incumbent, Roger Gaudet, who earned 30.2 per cent.
History: Gaudet had held this seat for the BQ from it’s creation in 2004 until his defeat in 2011.
