Police arrest two in Fort Rouge shooting

WINNIPEG — Police have two people in custody Tuesday night following a shooting in the Fort Rouge area.

Officers responded shortly after 2 p.m. for reports of shots fired near Nassau Street South and Taft Crescent.

Police confirm a male victim was taken to hospital in critical condition.  He was found suffering from upper body injuries.

Witnesses tell Global News they heard two shots fired in a back lane before seeing a victim running and then falling.

Officers had the back lane of Nassau taped off Tuesday afternoon.

 

Winnipeg Police tell Global News the two people arrested in the Nassau street shooting were taken into police custody from another scene on Archibald near Marion.

Reports from that scene indicate one person was taken away on a stretcher.

Officers taped off a portion of the business, including a vehicle that was up onto the curb.
