Fire crews in Maple Ridge were kept busy this morning, battling a blaze at a sawmill.

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. at South Coast Mill on McKay Avenue near Fisherman Road.

It’s not clear what sparked the fire, but there are reports it started in a sawdust bunker.

Crews have now contained and extinguished the flames.

The mill will be shut down today for the foreseeable future as crews investigate.
