An accident west of Kamloops has claimed the life of one person and injured another.
One car collided head on with another vehicle on Highway 1 just before 5 p.m. tonight.

It happened about 6.5 kilometres west of the Highway 1/Highway 5 junction on the western outskirts of Kamloops.
The highway is expected to be closed in both directions until at least 9 p.m. tonight.
The name of the victim has not been released.
