RCMP seek teen girls in attack on Didsbury group home worker

CALGARY – Charges are pending against a young girl accused in an attack at a group home in Didsbury over the weekend.

RCMP say a staff member was assaulted by three teens on Saturday just before 9 p.m. The girls allegedly confined the victim, and then took off in a company vehicle.

The staff worker was treated for minor injuries.

A young girl later turned herself in to police in Calgary. She has been released into the custody of a guardian.

RCMP are still searching for two other girls thought to be involved in the attack, both of whom are facing charges of robbery, unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats.

The first suspect is described as 15-years-old, 5’8” tall and 130 pounds with brown hair, hazel eyes and an olive complexion.

The second suspect is described as 16-years-old, 5’1” tall and 125 pounds with blonde hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion.

The stolen van is described as a silver 2007 Toyota Sienna with Alberta licence plate 89H-783.

Anyone who spots the suspects or the van is asked not to approach them, and to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers instead.

Didsbury is located about 50 minutes north of Calgary.
