Salvation Army seeking donations to aid Sask. wildfire evacuees

SASKATOON – The Salvation Army is seeking donations to help evacuees. Thousands of people have been forced to flee northern Saskatchewan due to wildfires.

Many had to flee on short notice and were unable to bring enough clothing for multiple days away from home.

The Salvation Army is looking for donations of adult and children summer clothing to aid the evacuees. Requested items include:

  • shorts
  • t-shirts
  • underwear
  • bathing suits
  • sandals/flip flops

Other requested items including non-plush toys, colouring books, kid’s activity books and reading material.

Donated items can be dropped off at the following locations Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. or Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

Saskatoon: 410 42nd A.St. East or 3000 Diefenbaker Dr.

Regina: 840 Albert St. Or 1711 Dewdney Ave. E.

Prince Albert: 900 Central Ave.

Items should not be delivered to evacuation centres as there is not enough physical space or resources to receive donated items at those facilities.
