MONTREAL – The search is on for four suspects in a late-night home invasion in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
The incident happened at 11:05 p.m. on Sunday at a third-floor apartment on De Rouen Street near Dezery.
The victim, a 20-year-old man, heard a knock at his back door.
Montreal spokesperson Andre Leclerc told Global News that when the young man opened the door, four armed assailants forced their way in.
The suspects were carrying firearms and a baton.
During the home invasion, the victim was hit in the leg with the baton but was not seriously injured.
The suspects searched the young man’s apartment and grabbed some personal items before running away through the back door.
Investigators and identification technicians are on the scene gathering evidence.
Police are looking for four black men between the ages of 23 and 25. The suspects spoke in French and were wearing hoodies and baseball caps during the burglary.
