OK Go back at it again with ‘Needing/Getting’

TORONTO – Chicago indie rockers OK Go are back to rock our socks off.

The band’s latest music video “Needing/Getting” is drastically picking up from where YouTube sensations, “Here It Goes Again” and “End Love” left off. Having only been released to the public yesterday, “Needing/Getting” is already a viral hit with over 2,220,000 views.

From the very moment we saw this band running on treadmills and wearing Skittles-coloured tracksuits, we wanted more. Now, we could expect 55 pianos, 288 guitars and 1,157 homemade instruments from their new music video.

Their quirky uniqueness and mellow tones keep us interested, so interested that it got the attention of Chervolet to partner up with OK Go’s new “Needing/Getting” video.

On the band’s official YouTube account, they released a statement about their latest work below their new music video saying:

“OK Go set up over 1000 instruments over two miles of desert outside Los Angeles. A Chevy Sonic was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms designed to play the instruments, and the band recorded this version of Needing/Getting, singing as they played the instrument array with the car. The video took 4 months of preparation and 4 days of shooting and recording. There are no ringers or stand-ins; Damian took stunt driving lessons. Each piano had the lowest octaves tuned to the same note so that they’d play the right note no matter where they were struck.”

“Needing/Getting” was directed by Brian L. Perkins and Damian Kulash, edited by Doug Walker and produced by Luke Ricci.

Enjoy the video. It’s an ultimate car banger – pun intended.
