The culprit is a low pressure system moving northeast from the United States. The system is expected to bring persistent rain, spreading from west to east across southern Ontario beginning Saturday afternoon.

The rain is expected to last into Sunday with the chance of some isolated thunderstorms.

Regions from Windsor through to the Golden Horseshoe could receive between 30 and 60 mm.

And it gets even better: along with the rain, the wind is expected to blow in on Saturday with gusts in the 50 to 70 km/h range.
