MONTREAL – A 38-year-old man is recovering in hospital with minor injuries after a late night hit-and-run.
Witnesses told Montreal police a jeep was driving fast on northbound Iberville street around 11:20 p.m.
The car turned sharply onto Bélanger street to avoid a red light, hitting a pedestrian and a parked car.

Police detained a 17-year-old boy for questioning, but later released him.
“We released him into the custody of his parents,” said Jean-Pierre Brabant with the Montreal police.
“No accusations are held against him.”
Bélanger street has been re-opened as of 4:45 a.m.
