KAMLOOPS — A Kelowna man has been found guilty for the second time in the killing of Jennifer Cusworth.
Neil Snelson was found guilty of manslaughter in 2011 for the 1993 murder of the 19-year-old college student.
She was found beaten and strangled after attending a Kelowna house party.
Snelson was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
He appealed the verdict and a new trial was held in Kamloops.
It took the jury only one day of deliberations before finding Snelson guilty of manslaughter.
He’ll be sentenced at a later date.
The B.C. Court of Appeal ordered the retrial because of an error made by the original trial judge. B.C.’s highest court found the Crown was not able to enter a question from police about whether he was ready to plead guilty or innocent.
