Police look for witnesses to Bow Trail motorcycle crash

CALGARY – Police are looking to the public for information on a motorcycle collision on Thursday that left one man with serious injuries.

The driver of a Kawasaki ZX636 collided with a car in the intersection of Bow Trail and 45 Street S.W. around 12 p.m.

Police say the car was waiting to make a left turn onto 45th Street S.W. and crossed into the path of the westbound motorcycle as the light turned yellow.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was thrown over the hood of the vehicle.

Paramedics rushed him to hospital in critical condition with serious life-threatening injuries.

The 63-year-old driver of the car was uninjured.

Police don’t believe speed or alcohol were factors in the collision.
