REVELSTOKE — Police believe a 56-year-old Alberta man has been missing in the Revelstoke area since October 2014.

On May 20, 2015, RCMP were notified of an abandoned vehicle on Big Mouth Creek Road off of  Highway 23 North, near Mica Dam.

They discovered a white 1996 Jeep Cherokee and determined the vehicle had been abandoned since last fall.

The jeep was registered to Robert Cline Kinnee, whose last known address was in Edmonton.

“Kinnee was known to some as a mushroom picker and tree planter, and this may have been the reason for his vehicle to be parked in a fairly remote location,” says Cpl. Thomas Blakney.

Kinnee checked out of a Revelstoke hotel on October 7, 2014; it’s believed he may have traveled to Calgary to visit family and then returned to B.C.
