Kelowna Rockets player named “Most Sportsmanlike Player of the Year”

KELOWNA — Kelowna Rockets forward Rourke Chartier has a lot to smile about this weekend.

In addition to the Rockets heading to the Memorial Cup final, Chartier has been named CCM Most Sportsmanlike Player of the Year.

Chartier beat out Kyle Farrell of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Dylan Strome of the Erie Otters for the title.

The 19-year-old tied for 14th in the WHL scoring this year, ending with 48 goals and 34 assists for 82 points in 58 games this season.

The award was handed out Saturday as part of the 2015 MasterCard Memorial Cup festivities in Quebec City.
