One dead, another seriously injured in Markham industrial accident

TORONTO – One person is dead following an industrial accident in downtown Markham Thursday morning.

Markham Fire say the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. in the area of Birchmount Rd. and Enterprise Blvd.

At 6:47 am we responded to an industrial accident @ Birchmount & Enterprise. A lift tipped over causing 1 fatality & leaving another injured

Crews arrived on scene to discover a lift tipped over with two victims on the ground.

In addition to the fatality, another person was air-lifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The injured patient was transported to hospital via helicopter with life threatening injuries. The intersection is closed for investigation.
